About us
At Rapp OptoElectronic GmbH we have been developing and manufacturing flash lamp systems for many years. Starting from applications in the Life Sciences we pioneered the construction of comprehensive and versatile systems for applications in
- flash photolysis
- flash excitation
- illumination.
In close contact to our customers we continuously add new developments to our range of products to match the ever increasing demand for new applications. Listening to clients' needs is our guidance for new products. Their feedback ensures continuous improvements of our products.
Examples for the latest developments are

- microscope attachments for spot illumination, also computer controlled
- broad range of flash lamp systems
- double pulse strobes
- high power illumination systems
- pulse discharge systems
- ultra high speed wavelength changer
We also produce fibre optically coupled lasers, e.g. pulsed Nd:YAG (λ = 1065nm, 533 nm, 355nm) lasers that deliver up to 4 mJ UV light within 20 ns. The Erbium:glass laser (λ; = 1.54µm) has found wide-spread applications in laser temperature jump experiments. As useful accessories we have a range of accessories like e.g. fibre optics, energy meters, optical filters, microscope adapters and couplings in our programme.
We have a long term experience in academic research, which was the basis for the specifications of many of our systems. This brings us into a strong position to provide technical expertise and advice for non-standard needs, e.g. switching of thousands of volts and ten-thousands of amperes.
